Crank Case- Crank Case is the body that holds other engine parts together .It is the largest part of the engine so it will be stiff and light in weight. If it is not stiff it will not hold  other engine parts & it might be breakdown during process.If it is heavy in weight then it will affect the efficiency of the engine & make them practically unfit to use.
